Dear Jane, I wanted to take a minute to thank you for a wonderful day yesterday. You did an amazing job trying out untried lessons and figuring out how to make them work. (in Spanish no less!) We now have lots of images and videos to help teachers understand ways they can present music concepts successfully. I was so impressed that you were willing to go above and beyond and write out what you planned to say each day. It was also fun to see the children playing maracas, marching, performing ostinatos and – best of all – giving hugs! You have made such a difference to both classes (and teachers!) you worked with.

In the last twenty five years I have counted on Jane Shelly to provide fine musicians for many musical events and she has always come through with the most capable musicians. She follows through with every detail from sending music to making sure that prompt downbeats are met in rehearsals and performances. Jane has a superb working relationship with great instrumentalists throughout the tri-state area. Because I know Jane can provide a great brass group, string group or full orchestra, I am able to make musical decisions without a worry if the parts will be covered. I tell her all the time, I don’t know what I would do without her, and I truly mean it!

Jane Shelly is one of the most positive people I have ever worked with. She was promoted to the Executive Director position with the Norwalk Symphony after serving as their Director of Education and Operations for two years. Jane has excellent communication skills and is great with working with people. She is a person that can take a task from inception to completion without needing supervision. During her years with the Norwalk Symphony she proved that she could handle many diverse tasks at the same time and she was not daunted by the challenges of the job. Jane Shelly is also a superb musician. She has been Associate Principal Flute of the Norwalk Symphony for 25 years. She has been very involved in our educational programs, both in the planning and in the implementation, and she remains an active private flute teacher in the Norwalk region.
I recommend Jane Shelly whole-heartedly. She is a tremendous asset to any organization she is associated with.
